Cassie Compton, 17, was one of the youngest finalists in the first series and her knockout vocals left Sharon stunned - but Simon was far from happy when she delivered her rendition of the Alfie theme.

"It reminded me of a child audition for a musical," he moaned.

So when the trio had to choose between Tabby and Cassie, Sharon decided not to vote.

"I won't choose between my babies. It's like choosing your favourite child," she wailed.
