Stars dropping like flies on Street
It seems the bosses at ITV1 soap Coronation Street are getting a bit twitchy about the current high levels of illness among the cast.
It emerged some scenes had to be scrapped because key stars were on sick leave. A source told The Sun: "They're dropping like flies.
"It's more like 'Sickie' Street these days and the bosses are getting worried."
Among those who have called in ill are Kym Ryder, aka sultry barmaid Michelle Connor, and Johnny Dixon, who plays Darryl Morton.
It's not been long since long-serving star Simon Gregson was absent with a mystery bug, and Ryan Thomas - better known as Jason Grimshaw - was recently off work through illness.
A spokesman confirmed several scenes had been scrapped due to illness, but one star who is keen to soldier on is Gray O'Brien, who plays sexy businessman Tony Gordon.
He's been struggling with hip problems and as a result has begun to use a walking stick - which has been reflected in his storylines.
However, the handsome star is rumoured to have dropped the bombshell his other hip may also need treatment.
A source told The Mirror: "We hope Gray won't need surgery as he's got a hectic time ahead."
Let's hope he's fit enough to take part in his next storyline, involving love rival Liam (Rob James-Collier).
