Ramsay Clegg is reportedly being killed off Coronation Street

Coronation Street fans who were hoping Andrew Sachs might extend his stint on the soap could be heading for disappointment, as it looks like his character Ramsay Clegg will be killed off.

An ITV1 source told The Sun: "Andrew's character was only meant to be temporary but his departure will be dramatic."

Ramsay arrived in Weatherfield in May hoping to build bridges with his estranged half-brother Norris, but has so far failed to make any progress - although he has made a more favourable impression on Emily.

She'll be hurt when he announces he's still going back to Australia, but there's further heartache in store when he collapses while boarding his plane home.
