Coronation Street veterans Thelma Barlow and Ralph Ineson are to appear in a new movie, Is There Anyone There?

Set in England in the 1980s, it's the story of Edward, a 10-year-old boy growing up in an old people's home run by his parents.

Obsessed with ghosts and the afterlife, he has a lonely existence, until he meets an anarchic retired magician called Clarence.

Thelma Barlow, best remembered as dithering Mavis Wilton in the long running soap, will play a character called Ena.

Corrie fans will remember co-star Ineson as Weatherfield psychiatrist Zack in 2005.

Earlier this year he returned to Sun Hill to play his fifth character in The Bill.

Like Ineson, co-star Karl Johnson has also played his fair share of Sun Hill characters.

He first appeared in The Bill back in 1989; returned in 2002, and made his final appearance to date in 2004.

Bill Milner, who starred in recent acclaimed hit Son of Rambow, will play Edward in the new movie.

The rest of the cast includes Michael Caine, Anne-Marie Duff and David Morrissey.
