EastEnders is celebrating after picking up three prizes at an international arts festival.

The soap scored a hat-trick at Birmingham's Black International Film Festival And Music, Video And Screen Awards.

Tiana Benjamin, who plays Chelsea Fox, beat off competition including former Doctor Who star Freema Agyeman to win Best UK Actress.

Rudolph Walker, who stars as Patrick Trueman in the Walford soap, was given a Lifetime Achievement Award for a career spanning four decades, including roles in The Thin Blue Line, Ali G Indahouse and a stage production of Shakespeare's Othello.

EastEnders was also named Best UK Drama with a Black or Ethnic Cast.

Tiana said of her gong: "I'm really grateful to get this recognition and thank you to all those who have voted, its much appreciated."
