I'm a Celebrity... Day 1

The seventh series kicked off in style, as our ten celebrities left their lives of luxury and landed in Australia to face the snake-infested jungle.

They were split into two teams: Snake Rock and Croc Creek. Each night a member from each team will compete to win the prize of a decent meal for their group.

61 year old Malcolm McLaren, Godfather of Punk, quit before he'd even met his team-mates, claiming that he had "too many professional obligations" to take part in the show. Despite the soothing voice of Lynne and the cackling insults of Janice, Malcolm refused to be coaxed from his room as he booked his flight home.

Will he be replaced? That isn't certain, but Christopher Biggins isn't in panto this year...

Entering their camps was the first hurdle, as the Croc Creek team bungee jumped from a helicopter hovering at 1000ft. Anna was almost paralysed with fear as she leapt, but Rodney struck it lucky as incoming rain prevented him from taking the plunge.

The Snake Rock team arrived by kayak with alpha females, Lynne and Janice, continuing to bicker.

Janice and Mark took part in the first Bushtucker Trial, Wheel of Misfortune. After remembering that she had an eel phobia, Janice lost the challenge and limped home to basic rations and an early night, while Mark and his team tucked into kangaroo fillets.

The next Bushtucker Trial, Rumble Rally, will give Janice the chance to redeem herself as she battles for supremacy against Rodney.
