Biggins: King of the Jungle

The winner of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2007 is... Christopher Biggins.

Third placed, and the first to leave, was ex-boybander 'J' - and it seems that although he was perfectly happy, Janice was genuinely shocked, reacting even before he did with repeated 'Wows'.

There was no sign of her infamous bitchiness as the former Five star prepared to leave, with her shock and confusion tempered by what appeared to be a real affection, despite their previous run-ins over the cooking.

In fact, none of J's fellow campers seem to have had anything bad to say about the guy, and he seemed to have had a whale of a time - but, it seems, being nice and enjoying yourself isn't enough to win over the public.

Rather more excitable - and rather less able to be called 'nice' - was Janice.

'I equate this to the delivery of my two children,' she said on reaching the final two, 'it was the most difficult thing of my entire life.'

For big Christopher Biggins, on the other hand, his delight and enthusiasm to get to the final two was also evident. But then, this is Biggins - he's always delighted and enthusiastic.

Even so, the news he'd won still came as a shock, the loveable old thesp instantly bursting into tears. Bless.

So, will this mean less panto for Biggins? He may have been big in the 70s, with roles in the likes of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, I Claudius, Porridge and cult children's favourite Rentaghost, but non-theatregoers haven't seen much of him of late.

Fingers crossed for a change in fortunes, because it seems the public agree with his former campmates - you can't help but love Biggins.
