Since the advent of package tours, the Brit Abroad has become a comedy staple. Smothered in lotion yet still bright red, bellowing at the locals, half-cut on sangria and surviving on a diet of egg and chips, no self-respecting sitcom would be seen dead without at least one episode set on holiday.

With this in mind those fine folks over at GOLD are celebrating our inability to holiday elegantly with their Comedy Cruise season.

Running throughout July and August, the Comedy Cruise features holiday-themed episodes from the likes of AB-Fab, Fawlty Towers, Black Adder, The Vicar of Dibley and Only Fools and Horses, shows which are like a shaft of sunlight in an otherwise grim, wet and muggy summer. Which is handy as that's exactly what we've had to put up with this summer...
