Paula Abdul has been invited to join 'So You Think You Can Dance'. The singer-and-choreographer - who reportedly hasn't been offered a contract for the latest series of 'American Idol' - could appear on the judging panel of the US talent show. 'So You Think You Can Dance' producer Nigel Lythgoe said: "We would certainly consider her as a guest judge. Without question."

Former Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader Paula enjoyed chart success in the 80s and 90s and has choreographed routines for stars including Janet Jackson.

Nigel, the former executive producer of 'American Idol', insists TV bosses want to keep Paula at the Fox network.

However, he said he can understand why Paula may be annoyed after fellow 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell was offered a £100 million-a-year contract, and the programme's host Ryan Seacrest bagged a deal worth £30 million.

Nigel said: "I'd never been involved in negotiations when I was with the show, but I know Fox wants to keep Paula.

"The figures that have been quoted for Simon and Ryan are great figures. I don't know if they're true, but Paula seeing those figures would make her pretty upset."

It has been confirmed Randy Jackson will also return to the 'American Idol' judging panel for the new series.

However new judge, songwriter Kara DioGuardi, who joined the show last year, is still unsure if her contract will be renewed.

Simon recently revealed he wants Paula to remain on 'American Idol', but admitted: "I don't get a lot of say. I've just made it clear that I want Paula on the show."
