Robert De Niro's Shepherd sequel
(BANG) - Robert De Niro is planning two sequels to 'The Good Shepherd'.
The actor-turned-director revealed he plans to make further instalments of the CIA agent movie, to span across 50 years.
Speaking at the at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in the Czech Republic last weekend (05.07.08), where he picked up a lifetime achievement award, Robert insisted he was too "superstitious" to talk about the movies, but said he may use his time in Europe to work on the plot, saying: "I had not been planning to do research on that while here, but it is a good idea."
The original movie starred Matt Damon as spy Edward Wilson, and Robert hopes the second film will follow the spy from 196 1 to 1989, with the final instalment bringing the character to the present date.
The first installment, set after the Second World War, took $60million at the box office, leading many industry experts questioning how successful the proposed sequels will be.
