Hercules: The movie

(BANG) - 'Hancock' director Peter Berg is set to make a movie about Hercules.

The filmmaker - who also directed hits 'Friday Night Lights' and 'The Kingdom' - is taking on the challenge of bringing the mythical Greek god to the big screen.

It will be inspired by the comic book series 'Hercules: The Thracian Wars' by Steve Moore.

The five-issue saga is only loosely based on the Greek myth and sees the son of Zeus leading an army of mercenaries into war. (C) BANG Media International
