Michael Jackson's body is resting at Forest Lawn, according to his brother Tito

Tito Jackson has confirmed that the body of his brother Michael is resting at the site at which the family held a private memorial.

The king of Pop's older brother told Entertainments Tonight: "He's at Forest Lawn."

It is not known if the private cemetery in Los Angeles will be the final resting place for the Thriller star.

Other potential sites for burial include the singer's sprawling Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara.

But it has been suggested that the Jacksons may have difficulty in gaining a licence to inter Michael at the site.

It is feared that it might turn the ranch into a place of pilgrimage for millions of fans.

Local authorities have suggested that road links may not be good enough to accommodate a Gracelands-like place of celebrity worship.
