Justin Timberlake has opened his refurbished 'green' golf course

Justin Timberlake celebrated the opening of his refurbished "green" golf course by driving down the newly improved fairway.

The singer spent 16 million dollars (£9.7 million) making the Mirimichi club near Memphis, Tennessee, more environmentally friendly.

"Nobody is happier about this course," Justin said after teeing-off.

The 28-year-old took to the 10th tee in front of a crowd of around 50 onlookers.

Fans watched as Justin smacked his opening drive 290 yards up the fairway.

He played a round accompanied by his mother, stepfather and an old family friend.

The singer got the idea to buy the course from his father in 2007.
