Pink and Green Day are set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The Funhouse star and the Grammy award-winning rockers aim to bring the house down as they hit the stage at the star-studded ceremony at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

"Last year I got to jump out of a window at the VMAs in LA. This year I can't wait to blow the roof off Radio City in New York," said Pink.

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong added: "We are excited to be performing at the Video Music Awards. You never know what's going to happen, and it's always a memorable experience for us."

Despite the controversy he caused with the Jonas Brothers, Russell Brand will reprise his hosting duties for the show for the second time.

Katy Perry, Ne-Yo and Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford have been confirmed as presenters, with Taylor Swift and Muse announced as performers.

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, which will take place on September 13, will air on MTV UK on Monday September 14 at 9pm.
