Troubled musician Pete Doherty arrived at court to answer criminal damage charges.

The Babyshambles front man allegedly chased photographer Cath Mead into a shop in Crewkerne, Somerset, in August last year after she took a shot of his then girlfriend, Irina Lazareanu.

Ms Mead was not seriously injured but damage was caused to her camera.

When the 28-year-old failed to show up to answer the charge at Yeovil Magistrates Court last week, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

At 11.03am on Thursday Doherty, dressed in a black suit and brown hat, arrived at the court in a Toyota people carrier and was met by his solicitor.

The former drug addict battled through a crowd of photographers and fans to get into the building.

Doherty was listed to appear before magistrates at 10am.
