Katie Price is a surprise contender for this year's Celebrity Mum of the Year award

The winner of the Celebrity Mum of the Year award is to be announced.

Katie Price is a surprise contender for the crown, after her very public marriage break-up from pop star Peter Andre.

Soap actress Kym Marsh, a mother-of-two, TV presenter Holly Willoughby, mum to a five-month-old baby boy, and news reader Natasha Kaplinsky, who is expecting her second child, are all up for the gong.

David Cameron's wife Samantha, who had to deal with the tragic death of her son Ivan earlier this year, is also nominated.

The winner, as voted for by the public, will be presented with the Bounty Celebrity Mum of the Year 2009 Award at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester.

Last year's winner Suzanne Shaw and three former Spice Girls - Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell - also made the shortlist.

Previous recipients of the award include Kerry Katona, Melinda Messenger and Sharon Osbourne.

The nominees this year include Geri Halliwell, Jo Wood, Myleene Klass, Tess Daly, Edith Bowman, Holly Willoughby, Katie Price, Kym Marsh, Charlotte Church, Billie Piper, Kate Garraway, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Fern Britton, Suzanne Shaw, Samantha Cameron, Emma Bunton, Natasha Kaplinsky, Coleen Nolan, Mel B and Kate Moss.
