Dangerous love

EastEnders' Sean Slater
See you Slater: Sean likes to love and leave the ladies

- Should you make-up or break-up?

Everyone loves a bad boy, don't they?

Just look at EastEnders' Sean Slater - he's a bad 'un and yet he's been working his way through Albert Square's women, breaking hearts left, right and centre.

Soapland has a long history of good girls (or good guys for that matter) who go bad under the influence of a lover.

We cast our mind back over the corrupting relationships that have shocked on soap screens before:

Steve Owen and Mel Healy - EastEnders

Vicar's daughter Mel fell for murderous club owner Steve in a big way. Although she thought she could straighten him out, her stint as a gangster's moll saw her kidnapped, beaten, arrested, and eventually left as a woman on the run from the law.

Last seen heading to Portugal to avoid jail, she's regretting the day she ever set eyes on slippery Steve.

Joe Carter and Karen McDonald - Coronation Street

Sweet, gobby, Karen was hardly the biggest threat to Mike Baldwin's knicker empire. Her waking thoughts extended to boyfriend Steve, pints in the Rovers, and saving up for the Top Shop sale.

That all changed when she fell for super-rogue Joe Carter. Together they schemed to rip off Mike for his underwear fortune. Eventually good lass Karen saw the error of her ways and confessed her sins before it was too late.

Phil Mitchell and Kate Morton - EastEnders

Initially assigned as an undercover cop to bring down gangster Phil, Kate was a woman at the top of her game. But even steely nerves and the promise of a whopping bonus from the Superintendent wasn't enough to save Kate from Phil's master manipulation skills.

He turned Kate from supercop to blushing bride, Kate was sacked from her job and left ruined by the end of her time on the Square.

Jasmine Thomas and Cain Dingle - Emmerdale

The most shocking seduction of his ten year stint in Emmerdale was Cain's bedding of schoolgirl Jasmine. The girlfriend of his daughter Debbie, and Reverend Ashley's niece, Jasmine was surprisingly easy to lead astray and their Portakabin romp resulted in a controversial pregnancy.

Jasmine got her revenge though, when she terminated her pregnancy and broke Cain's heart.

Leanne Battersby and Nick Tilsley - Coronation Street

It's not just bad boys that lead others astray - Leanne Battersby proved that a wicked woman can get her way too. The girl who prompted the nationwide-introduction of ASBOs set her sights on sappy hunk Nick and led him on an unpredictable path of romance, much to the disgust of his curtain-twitching mother Gail.

Married at Gretna Green, the pair were Corrie's answer to Romeo and Juliet until their divorce in 2000.
